 Terms and Conditions
Back of Beyond staff offer their experience and knowledge to you and endeavour to make your trip with us as enjoyable and safe as possible. It is important, however, that you read the following Booking Conditions and sample Waiver to ensure that you understand what is expected of you.
ELIGIBILITY:
Besides our regularly scheduled trips, Back of Beyond excels at arranging custom trips for families, companies, youth groups, etc. to match your abilities and expectations.
Our backpacking and hiking trips can be physically demanding so it is important that you are realistic about your physical condition and the degree of challenge you enjoy. The fitter you are the more you will enjoy the trip. If you are over 50 it is recommended that you consult a physician before embarking on the physically demanding trips. All participants will be asked to fill out a Medical form informing us of any relevant medical histroy informatin, medications, allergies, etc. and also any dietary restrictions/requests you may have. It is advisable that participants check their medical coverage to ensure that it is adequate.
RESERVING AND FINAL PAYMENTS:
To reserve space on one of Back of Beyond's trips, a deposit of 50% of the trip cost is required. The balance is due 45 days prior to departure where applicable.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS:
We realize that circumstances may arise which may unexpectedly cause you to cancel your trip. We STRONGLY advise that you purchase cancellation insurance for your protection. Back of Beyond will refund your payment, less a $100.00 processing fee, if the trip is cancelled up to 45 days prior to departure. Cancellations received less than 45 days prior to the departure date will not be refunded unless your space can be resold, in which case we retain the $100.00 processing fee.
Circumstances beyond our control may arise (ie. low registration) which may cause us to cancel a trip. In this event we will refund any payments made in full. We are not however, responsible for non-refundable airline tickets, etc. so again, it is advisable to purchase cancellation insurance.
We also reserve the right to alter, dely or cancel portions of the trip if it is deemed necessary for any reason.
EMERGENCY CARE:
In the event of an accident, illness, force of nature or missing person, Back of Beyond leaders will arrange for search and evacuation assistance. Costs which may be incurred, beyond the initial first aid, for medical care and for evacuation and searches are the financial responsibility of the involved person(s). Some medical insurance policies will have evacuation insurance.
OUR LEADERS:
The trip leaders at Back of Beyond Adventure Co. Ltd. are experienced in backcountry/ wilderness travel and are aware of the risks and dangers involved. They are trained in CPR and Wilderness First Aid. Our leaders strive to make the trips enjoyable, memorable and safe for all participants. The leaders reserve the right to refuse a participant to remain on the trip if, in the reasonable opinion of the trip leader, the health or conduct of a participant is detrimental to the sfety, comfort and enjoyment of others on the trip. This refusal does not obligate a refund of payment and Back of Beyond Adventure Co. Ltd. shall have no further responsibility.
EQUIPMENT:
An equipment list is provided upon booking your tour. Back of Beyond will supply all outdoor equipment, if necessary. Participants who have booked all-inclusive trips are responsible for bringing only their personal gear. Please ensure that you have all of the items listed. A planning meeting will be arranged on the night/morning prior to departure to ensure that all participants have their required gear, to assist with packing and to outline the trip.

RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
RISK ACKNOWLEDGMENT - I am aware that, during the trip I will participate under the arrangements of Back of Beyond Adventure company Ltd. ("Back of Beyond"), its agents or associates. I may subject myself to dangers and hazards which result in illness, injury, or death. I recognize that such risks, dangers and hazards may be present ay any time during the trip. i also am aware that medical services or facilities may not be readily available or acdcessible during some or all of the time in which I participate in the trip.
DISCLAIMER - In consideration of, and as part payment for the right to participate in the trip, the associated activities and serviceds arranged for me by Back of Beyond, its agents or associates, I have and do hereby fully assume all risk of illness, injury or death, and hereby release and discharge Back of Beyond, its agents, associates and servants from all actions, claims, or demands for injury or damageresulting from my participation in the trip.
DISCLAIMER - (continued) - I agree that I will not sue Back of Beyond, its agents, associates or servants for damages, howsoever caused, incurred as a consequence of my participation in the trip, notwithstanding that those damages I incur may be caused by the negligence or other improper acts of Back of Beyond, its affiliates, agents, associates, or any contractor of Back of Beyond.
VOLUNTARY ASSUMPTION - of All Risks and Costs - Of my own free will and in additional consideration of my participation in the trip, I agree to assume all risks involved in the trip, including travel before and after. I agree to pay the cost of any emergency evacuation of my person and belongings that may become necessary. I agree to relieve Back of Beyond, its affiliates, agents, employees and contractors of any and all liability for losses or damages suffered by me of all and every description.
BINDING EFFECT OF AGREEMENT - I agree that the obligation above shall bind me personally, as well as bind my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, and all members of my family, including any minors accompanying me, and serve as a complete bar or defense against the commencement of any legal action against Back of Beyond, its agents or servants, arising from my participation in the trip. I am aware that this is a relase of liability and contract between me and Back of Beyond, its affiliates, agents, employees and contractors.
BOOKING INFORMATION READ - I also acknowledge that I carefully read Back of Beyond booking information, including its policy on cancelled trips and refunds, and agree to all stated condtions set out in the booking information.
